This family had to relocate on short notice and found a neighborhood they loved, but the house itself felt anything but custom. It had soaring ceilings, large open spaces, and plenty of potential, but very little architectural detail. So our focus became giving the home the character, rhythm, and sense of permanence it was missing.

We completely reimagined the home with custom cabinetry, a statement kitchen hood, a large island, a new fireplace with built-ins, and layers of molding, wall treatments, and ceiling details throughout. Because the floor plan was so open, those architectural elements helped define each space and made the home feel intentional rather than simply expansive. We also transformed the front room into a dramatic office with steel-framed doors, dark walls, built-ins, and lighting that gave the room its own identity while still feeling connected to the rest of the home.

One of the most important moments was right at the entry. What had been an empty hallway became a custom focal point with a large built-in designed to display the family’s heirloom china, along with a statement mirror, storage, and a practical drop zone. It gave the home something beautiful to look at the moment you walked through the door and immediately made the space feel more grand and considered. The finished home still has all the openness the family loved, but now every room feels layered, purposeful, and truly custom.
